Students from out of province will be returning to Mount Allison University January 8-9 to start their 14 day isolation. Please know that lots of work has been done with the safety of MtA students and staff, as well as the residents of Sackville as the top concern.
The information and guidelines that Mount Allison has distributed to students concerning arranging a COVID test follows that provided by New Brunswick Public Health:
➡ Immediately following a student's arrival in New Brunswick, they must complete the online self-referral form (a link has been sent out to students).
➡ For students able to travel to take their COVID test, a representative from the assessment centre will contact the student to schedule a date, time and location for testing once the online form is submitted.
➡ Students who cannot travel to the assessment centre site will have testing arranged and completed in Sackville. If called by a representative from the assessment centre, such students should confirm that they are unable to travel for a test.
➡ Students are permitted to leave self-isolation ONLY to have their COVID-19 test at an assessment centre. When leaving self-isolation to take the test, students must adhere to all public health measures, including wearing a mask and physical distancing as much as possible.
➡ Once the test has been completed students must immediately return to their self-isolation address to complete their self-isolation period.
➡ All students who receive a test must still complete their 14-day self-isolation period.
