About

Looking to expand my network and help drive CUTTING-EDGE SCIENTIFIC TEACHING & LEARNING to establish future generations of scientists and help solve real-world issues in MICROBIOLOGY, including the detection and control of emerging pathogens and antimicrobial-resistant bacteria.

ESTABLISHED MICROBIOLOGIST with nearly 20 years of expertise in DIAGNOSTICS and molecular epidemiology with a proven track record including >30 PEER-REVIEWED PUBLICATIONS, Guest Editor of MDPI biomedicines, and have secured over $1M in scientific funding through project and equipment grants.

Actively engaged in and focused on TRANSLATIONAL SCIENCE (i.e., using basic scientific research toward a clinical application) to ensure practical outcomes with benefit to people in need. I am an integral part of multiple collaborative and integrative SCIENTIFIC NETWORKS in Australia, India, Kenya, and Canada focusing on the detection and management of a range of infectious diseases. My scientific network significantly leverages and accelerates my research efforts to more rapidly identify the GEMS and eliminate the junk. I am a respected advisor to multiple scientists and students in scientific laboratory methodologies, grant writing, and how to publish successfully.

Promotes LEARNING and COLLABORATION by creating accessible science for both an academic and a general audience. This includes successfully teaching and empowering both undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of microbiology, cancer research, genetics, and laboratory molecular methods."
