Eddie Cornell
Edward (Eddie) Cornell is a decorated veteran who served as a gunner in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1975 to 1994 and again from 2009 to 2013, earning the Medal of Bravery for his service in Cyprus. After his military career, he held roles with the Ontario Provincial Police and Chrysler before becoming a prominent advocate for civil liberties during the trucker convoy protests.
Eddie was deeply involved in the convoy movement, working alongside fellow Canadians to support truckers standing for rights and freedoms. In response to government overreach, he co-founded Veterans for Freedom, an organization dedicated to protecting both veterans and the public from excessive government control. He was also one of two litigants who successfully challenged the federal government in court, leading to the ruling that its use of the Emergencies Act and bank account freezes was ultra vires (beyond legal authority).
With a strong background in military leadership and a steadfast commitment to constitutional rights, Eddie remains dedicated to fighting for the freedoms of all Canadians."
