#MagnaCarta was first sealed by King John #OnThisDay in 1215. It was re-issued after John’s death in 1216.

1225 copy sealed by Henry III
1300 copy sealed by Edward I

The only surviving copy of the 1216 re-issue of Magna Carta with parchment tags but the seals now missing.

A 1225 copy of Magna Carta with the seal of King Henry III in dark green wax attached with red cord.

A 1300 copy of Magna Carta with the seal of King Edward I in light ochre wax attached with a parchment tag.
