In 1999 my wife and I bought a piece of property in ontario (65 acres with three road frontages so our children could build homes) which we planned to start farming. Our children were young at that time. Once we paid off some debt , applied for a farming designation for our property in 2005 at our municipal office at that time our agicultural zoning had been changed to Environmentally Protected, WITHOUT our knowledge. After repeated meetings with our municipal counselors, addressing at townhall meetings, letters to every level of government, we were either gaslighted, or out and out lied to. Once this is done, it is done. This was changed as we found out because canada signed to the Kyoto Agreement in 1999 which has devalued our property, although we pay more in taxes alone today than when we had a mortgage and our property taxes conbined.
In canada you have NO property rights. We are at the mercy of what ever public politician who runs for office on a platform then changes their mind and then gets to act out WHATEVER kind of ideology that comes into their mind, - like giving away the land you are paying for to make themselves feel better about the world. Our children will never live on this land eventhough they all rent elsewhere because they can't afford to buy for themselves. I wish someone had let me know about this 40 years ago when I was a tradesman and could have left this country and worked where ever I wanted around the world. This is the advice I give to ANYONE who is starting out, get out while you are able. Hopefully the indians can claim the parliament buildings right out from underneath these idiots cause they deserve it.
Of note: I was at an event on campus at Mount Allison University in 2015 before the Federal election Trudeau won.. this riding is Dominic Leblanc's stronghold for decades "Beausejour" and on the campus event - the first PRIDE event - a speaker called Rev. John Perkin on campus chaplain made a point of saying in his speech that "we are all global citizens on unceded territrory".. I just went ... whoa!!!! Not long after they banned me from campus for a year... I had been giving the Conservative candidate a tour on campus that day.. imagine that?
