This film is the story of the final weeks of the Occupy LA camp in 2011. It's not a definitive story by a long shot, but it's told from the inside. The division, the mistrust and the eventual fall of the camp itself.
What ended in LA, began in New York. On September 17, 2011 Occupy Wall Street took over Zuccotti Park in NYC. Occupations soon spread throughout the United States and the world. Two weeks later, Occupy LA took over City Hall Park. It soon became the largest occupation in the country - with equal amounts of solidarity and division.
A host of forces were at work and camps developed within the camp. By the final weeks, things were coming to a head. The film explores the inner workings of the movement as the occupiers split into two main factions when a prospective deal from City Hall comes to light.
Made over a three year period, McGrath interviews six former occupiers - Sarah, Colin, Suzanne, Joan, Mario J and Mario B - who reflect on what went down over those final days and what became of Occupy.
