"Canadian MP Yvan Baker has introduced a private member’s Bill to designate July each year as Somali Heritage Month in Canada. The Bill is co-sponsored by MP Ahmed Hussen. Baker says the recognition aims to celebrate the contributions of Canadians of Somali heritage across the country’s economic, political, social, and cultural life, expressing hope that the legislation will receive broad support in Parliament."
