According to one of the female curators of the exhibit I spoke with Leon Trotsky was held at the camp for about three months then released.. Trotsky, a jewish communist agitator, was held at the Amherst Internment Camp after being intercepted in Halifax from a ship heading to the Russian Revolution.. I guess with a little help from important people Leon got there eventually and the rest is history.. funny how that works... Amherst was the largest internment camp in Canada .. this exhibit was worth checking out .. #NO MORE BROTHER WARS.
