Remembering Sass Jordan born December 23, 1960 in Birmingham, England died October 2, 2026

Death announced on Instagram ...

On Oct 2 2026, surrounded by her loving family, Sass Jordan peacefully crossed over to the other side.

She remains in our hearts, an inimitable force of nature. An irreplaceable being of light and joy!

I’d rather quit this life
Jumping with both feet
Into the-you know what
Without a backward look

I’d rather go running there
Arms wide open,
Than slowly ambling
One foot in
Over the edge
Dingle dangling

And no my darlings
Not the slightest jot of fear
And nothing of regret

But for the rest of me
I’ll stand by laughing
Remembering this body
That served me so brilliantly
Through sunshine and other stuff.

I’ll thank it profoundly
And move on, singing
But this time,
Ah yes, this time,
In perfect tune"

Sass Jordan leaves behind a daughter and her husband.

Eric Alper writes:

"After moving to Los Angeles in January 1990, she recorded ‘Racine’, released by MCA Records on March 31, 1992. It became the defining album of her career, selling an estimated 450,000 copies worldwide and 100,000 in Canada on the strength of “Make You a Believer”, “I Want to Believe”, “You Don’t Have to Remind Me” and “Goin’ Back Again”, with “Who Do You Think You Are” following in 1993. “Make You a Believer” climbed to #11 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, and Billboard named her its top female rock artist of 1992. That same year, after Kevin Costner heard her voice on his car radio, she recorded the duet “Trust in Me” with Joe Cocker for ‘The Bodyguard’, a soundtrack that sold more than 45 million copies. She toured alongside Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Van Halen."

Daughter Stella's Instagram post upon her mother Sass Jordan's death here:

My best friend + mummy ❤️🪽 losing you has been the greatest pain of my life. It’s strange to comprehend how I will live the rest of my life without you, but in my heart I know you will forever be apart of me and keep an eye from the sky.

To say you were loved would be a massive understatement. Anyone who met you immediately adored you, and if you liked them back you’d have their birth chart done within the hour. You were fiercely loyal, undeniably defiant, and unbelievably funny.
You had this incredibly bright and radiant spirit that everyone was drawn to and an infectious joy that I believe, genuinely changed the lives of many.

Thank you for gifting me the opportunity to live this beautiful life and more importantly to get to share some of it with you. One of the greatest honours of my life was being your kid.

There aren’t enough words to express my love for you. I miss you terribly. I hope you’re my mummy in every lifetime. ❤️
