Re: NCA Political Censorship
NCA condemns the political censorship in the greater Truro area, which is an attack on Canadian democracy and the freedoms our veterans sacrificed their lives for. NCA is being denied access to both public and private venues for campaign events. Already two planned NCA campaign events in the Truro area have had to be cancelled. Previously, NCA has been denied access to venues in Halifax.
There is a culture of fear and intimidation that is pervading over Nova Scotia in general and threatening the very basis of Canadian democracy.
NCA filed a complaint with Elections Canada in regard to political interference by the Town of Truro in NCA campaign activities, and the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission has accepted three human rights complaints by the NCA against three Truro venues, and one of them involves the Town of Truro.
On September 13th, NCA Chief Agent was assaulted including kicked in the head by an Antifa protester. The NCA Chief Agent was taken to the hospital. The Truro police allowed the suspect to walk away from the scene, and it has yet to charge the suspect despite clear video evidence of the assault and a number of witnesses.
