"CHMA is very excited to announce that we are offering a new position for Community Programming and Outreach starting September 1st, 2023.

CHMA plays an essential role in local news and independent culture at Mount Allison University and in the Tantramar area. We have been awarded this funding through the Community Radio Fund of Canada’s Radiometres program to develop community programming that will help us increase our number of volunteers, extend our presence in the community, and produce content and discussions with community members, while supporting and promoting media literacy.

The successful applicant will engage and inspire current and potential volunteers, develop hyper-local community based content, partner with community organizations to expand our audience and assist in their promotion and outreach, including underrepresented groups, new immigrants and marginalized communities.

The goal of this funding is to increase the number of volunteers involved in producing local media with CHMA, increasing the number of hours of our local content, and assisting in the production of segments that promote community events and interests, all of which we hope will increase our presence in the community and the communities presence on our airwaves.

As a CHMA staff member you will work also work with our staff and volunteers to further our mandate of informing and entertaining our community to meet the diverse needs of the communities of Westmoreland and Cumberland counties, NB & NS.

~You will play an integral role in the day-to-day functions of CHMA in our collaborative work environment.
~You are invited to contribute to programming, audio production, broadcasting, and journalism through both our on-air broadcasting and online platforms. 
~You agree to produce content each week that contributes to our on-air broadcast and/or online distribution platforms.
~You will be expected to attend our weekly staff meetings and our monthly board meetings.

This is a one-year contract position funded to August 31st, 2024, with a salary of $35,000 and an expected work week of 35 hours. We support a hybrid work model, but some in-person presence will be required.
