"Canadian International Council - Halifax Chapter"

"Since its formation in 1931, as a branch of the Canadian Institute of International Affairs, the Halifax branch of today’s Canadian International Council has actively served to connect our local population with issues of the world and with knowledge of Canada’s role in the world community. The Halifax Branch is one of the Canadian International Council’s volunteer-run branches, which, together, hold over 150 events nationally on a wide variety of topics that can range in format from casual Politics at the Pub discussions to expert panels and formal conferences.

With a very knowledgeable and engaged group of academic, business and community members who share an interest in foreign affairs, international business and trade, and Canada’s role in the world, branch activities provide a unique networking opportunity for those who are in Halifax but who have their eyes on issues overseas.

We also actively seek to establish relationships with other organizations and institutions in Halifax that share our interest in international affairs. Through these efforts, we have been able to develop stronger programs and extend our reach to include more of the community at large.

The Halifax branch is fortunate to have an enthusiastic group of Executive members who volunteer their time and expertise to organize events and ensure the success of the branch.

We welcome new members, partnership opportunities and ideas to enliven our speakers’ program or to help us to engage the wider public."

There are between 12-15 million Ismailis in the world. The Ismaili community has hadment opportunities in our region. These forums were well attended and generated significant interest in Atlantic Canada. The alignment of the values of Atlantic Canada to those of the Ismaili community is well recognized by the Aga Khan Council and one of the key reasons for interest in our region.. The Council is also focussed on developing a bigger community of Ismailis in the region and is currently working to bring refugee families to our region and has a well developed strategy to support those resettlement efforts by ensuring access to affordable housing, healthcare, language training as well as assisting in the integration into the local community. Reporter Erica Butler Departs CHMA FM Mount Allison University Sackville New Brunswick Campus Radio Station

How nurses from the Philippines helped open more nursing home beds in Sackville

Erica Butler
CHMA News, Local Journalism Initiative, Community Radio Fund of Canada

On today’s show, we learn about a recruitment program at the Drew Nursing Home, which has resulted in 25 nurses originally from the Philippines being hired to work in Sackville. Thanks to the additional staff, the Drew is now operating at full capacity, after many years with empty beds.

We talk with Drew director Linda Shannon, Thrive NB co-founder Carol Chapman, and Charie May Ili, a registered nurse from the Philippines who came to Sackville in November 2024 to work at the Drew.

A note from Erica:

This is my final edition of Tantramar Report, as my time at CHMA winds to a close today. It’s been a pleasure and a privilege working as a reporter in Sackville, Dorchester, and sometimes even Memramcook, Amherst and Strait Shores. Thanks to all the readers and listeners, especially those who have reached out over the years with a comment, question, or even just a grammar check. It was all appreciated.

CHMA news will take a break next week, but will be back. Stay tuned for further developments.

Dr. Dena Churchill with Adrien Bordage, National Citizens Alliance in July 24, 2020 - Halifax Nova Scotia

Dena Churchill speaking with Adrien Bordage at National Citizens Alliance on Facebook here:

Dr. Dena Churchill on Freedom of Choice, 5G, Vaccinations | Dr. Dena Churchill on Freedom of Choice, 5G, Vaccinations This NCA video is from the No Mandatory Masks Protest in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on July... | By National Citizens Alliance | Facebook

"Dr. Dena Churchill on Freedom of Choice, 5G, Vaccinations
This NCA video is from the No Mandatory Masks Protest in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on July 19, 2020.
NCA asked Dr. Churchill some questions, regarding the condemnation of her by the chiropractic profession and government bodies for her personal views on vaccinations, and her concerns about 5G and vaccinations.
National Citizens Alliance is very concerned at the attacks on freedom of expression including freedom of choice. We oppose government mandatory dictates when they are not supported overwelmingly by independent science and lives will not be saved.
Further, as a registered federal political party, NCA supports an immediate moratorium on 5G deployment to address the serious health and privacy concerns through independent science. In addition, we support an upgrade to the Safety Code 6 that reflects the work of the BioInitiative and Standards for Building Biology Mechanism Interpretation. Further, we support a comprehensive review of Health Canada for its lack of integrity and corruption, whereby the upper echelon of Health Canada is replaced.

"According to the college, the allegations stemmed from online posts between May and September of last year. A notice on the college’s website alleged the online content constituted “marketing activities that were not professional, truthful, verifiable (or) clear.’’

Last year, Churchill posted online videos, including one that alleged the U.S. Centers for Disease Control has a financial bias related to vaccines. She also pointed out that she was not representing chiropractors.

A settlement agreement posted by the college says Churchill will not reapply for a licence until a doctor approved by the college determines that she is competent and fit to practise.

She has been given 10 years to pay the $100,000." July 15, 2019

Climate Quinn of Sackville New Brunswick - Mount Allison University Town [Student of Dalhousie in Halifax Nova Scotia]

Only a university town could produce such a dedicated activist - is Dalhousie's Quinn the Canadian answer to Sweden's Greta Thunberg? Perhaps... Quinn is just not as edgy but definitely just as brain-washed into the fear porn of climate change activism.. it is all consuming as you will see from her testimony given to the radio station with minion Erica Butler [who came here from Halifax Examiner to CHMA Mount Allison University Sackville NB back in 2020] .. Butler blocks me on Twitter... July 30, 2024, listen here
